Derek Carr is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football at Fresno State, where he was the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013.

He was selected by the Raiders in the second round (36th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Carr made his NFL debut in 2014 and became the Raiders' starting quarterback in his rookie season.

He has been named to the Pro Bowl twice in 2016 and 2017.

In 2018, Carr suffered a season-ending injury and missed the final games of the season.

He recovered well in 2019 and 2020, leading his team to playoffs.

In 2021 Carr was benched for Marcus Mariota, but regained his starting role by the end of the season

and signed a multi-year extension with the Raiders.
